It's our third year and we're moving to a new home!

Starting with the first meeting of the year in 2012 we'll be meeting indefinitely at Business On The Spot near Sprayberry High School. It's a private venue and there will be coffee and snacks and you can bring your own. We''ll also have plenty of WiFi and even access to a printer if needed. I'm stoked!

To start the year off we'll be taking a look at social media tools and learning opportunities in the coming months. One of our focuses for this meeting will be curation for the purpose of branding, community building and marketing. Want to name a few successful curators? Okay, how about Robert Scoble, Guy Kawasaki, Laura Fitton (oneforty.com).

Unlike times past everyone will get up to 2 minutes or longer to speak as well. It was impracticable at The Atlanta Bread Company but in the private setting we won't be worried about noises going on around us or being too loud!

Hopefully at this event we'll hear from some very experienced regulars and welcome some new participants as well.

Attendance is free but if you do drink coffee and grab a snack there will be an honor jar for you to drop a buck or two in to help keep it all cool! If you want more than just coffee or what is in the snack machine there is a Chick Fil A on the corner, a Birger King, MacDonald's and Dunkin Donuts all less than 1/2 mile away on Sandy Plains.

The atmosphere is as casual as you want to come and there is plenty of parking. Park in the front of the building, come in the front door and walk down to suite 114 which will be on your left just beyond the stairs and water cooler. There is plenty of electricity and a few different ways to sit or lounge so come ready to share and ready to learn!

"BREAKFAST" - I need to clarify the breakfast concept :) I will have coffee here. There is also a soda machine and a snack machine. If you want more than just a snack there is a Chick Fil A, Burger King, MacDonalds, and Dunkin Donuts within 1/2 mile from here. You are free to bring your own food just make sure to grab enough napkins to clean up, ha!

TOPICS - a few people have asked about topics. Here is what will happen at this event. We'll start gathering around 8AM. We'll mingle and meet for 30 minutes. At 8:30 we'll have time for each attendee to make a brief introduction, probably about 1 minute each. At roughly 9AM we'll start the presentation and we're going to be discussing curation which will include: Google+, Facebook, Pinterest, Scoop.it, Twylah, Paper.li, and others. Whatever tool we speak about it will be from a curation perspective, why curation will be important in 2012 and we'll collaborate on uses.

NUMBER OF ATTENDEES - people always want to know how many people are coming. At this point we have 20 reservations plus a couple of people I know are coming who have not RSVPd. I estimate around 20 to 25 people will be in attendance.
